Select classes
When you want to register a trademark, it is important to identify the classes of goods and/or services for which the mark will be used. There are a total of 45 classes available to choose from, with classes 1-34 covering goods and classes 35-45 covering services. For example, if you or your company wish to register a trademark for a new type of computer mouse, you need to select the appropriate class of goods that the mouse falls under, which is likely to be class 9 (covering computer hardware and software). Then, you must select the relevant product descriptions that apply to your product.
