Most law firms charge on either a high fixed fee and/or an hourly rate basis. They also charge if your application faces any issues with IP Australia or if your application is opposed by a third party. They also charge you again when your trade mark is accepted or registered. At Lovemarks we don’t! We charge one simple flat fee for everything.

When an application is filed, we have to stipulate and describe the goods or the services the trade mark will be used for or is proposed to be used for. Each good or service is classified according to an international trade mark system. There are 45 potential classes covering each good or service in the world. IP Australia and other global trade mark offices, charge per class. In Australia, that class fee is $400. The more classes you have, the more fees you pay. Most law firms charge you per class too. At Lovemarks we don’t. We charge one flat fee no matter the number of classes. Simple.

We can also file your trade mark application in any other country. We can either use overseas legal associate firms, with whom we have established long term relationships, and have agreed to lower costs or we can file your trade mark application with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) for one flat fee.
